Dark Mode is an iteration and re-imagining of Europe’s longest running dark comedy show – “The Berlin Offensive” – we have been running these shows since 2017 and we’re still going strong!

The Prime Time edition features an all pro lineup of non-stop cavalcade of offensive humour, holocaust jokes, and vivid discussions of necrophilia. Comics will take to the stage to discuss such wide ranging topics from pediatric cancer to why Germans love asparagus so much. Comics on the Prime Time show are typically professional comedians who have extensive touring experience & TV credits. This is not your standard Berlin open mic.

This show features:

Erika Ratcliffe (Austria): Erika Ratcliffe is a Japanese-Austrian comedian and has performed Stand-up all over Germany, Switzerland and Austria. She has a dark sense of humor and doesn’t shy away from controversial topics like racism or Satisfyers. Her comedy is very self-deprecating and sometimes silly, but always personal. Erika starred in the Comedy Central Roast Battle, Comedy Central Stand Up 3000, ZDF Heroes, ARD Länder Battle and more. And she recently returned her anxiety blanket!

Scott Reynolds (Canada): Scott Reynolds, a Toronto native turned German transplant, found his comedic voice amidst a whirlwind of classical music sheets and the sweet, albeit questionable, embrace of a Swedish damsel half his age, who bears an uncanny resemblance to a preteen. Swapping his mundane middle-class suburban tales for the chaotic stage in 2018, Scott quickly charmed audiences with his peculiar life choices. Now, when he’s not serenading the crowd with his comedic renditions, he’s exploring the euphoric abyss of a notorious drug called Miao Miao, a habit as phlegmatic as his humor. His impending nuptials and illicit love affair with Miao Miao fuel his comedic narrative, offering a bizarre yet hilarious lens through which to view the world. Scott’s act is a wild ride through the life of a straight, white male whose love interests are as unconventional as his transition from classical music to comedy.

Karl Bustillo (Columbia): Karl Pinzon was made in front of a live studio audience. May contain subjects of sexuality, parenthood and some traces of nuts. Deez Nuts. Viewer discretion is advised.

Eve Ellenbogen (USA): Eve Ellenbogen is a mouthy New York broad and has lived and performed standup on three continents. She has featured on Australian TV and radio, but now performs mainly in the U.S. and the UK.

Online tickets are discounted from the door. Door tickets are 20 euros – so make sure to get your tickets ahead of time!

YOUR HOST: NIR GOTTLEID (@thenireast):

Nir Gottleid (@thenireast on instagram) is an Israeli comic who has performed in the throughout Europe, the US, and Israel. He has come to Germany to, as he says, “make Germans feel uncomfortable as a form of reparations”; he would prefer to date Germans to achieve his goal, but sadly German women have intelligence, common sense, and eyes — therefore he’s forced to do comedy instead. His combination of dark humor, self-deprecation, and obscene “dad jokes” will leave him in stitches, because you are very likely to stab him after his set.

“has a command of the traditional pace, rhythms and tightly written gags of stand-up that assure you that you’re in capable hand”, “a flair for gags that make you wince and laugh in equal measure”, “a self loathing stoner” – Chortle, UK

Nir has been touring Europe, and has produced multiple successful shows such as “The Berlin Offensive”, “Schindler’s Fist”, and more. He is widely regarded as the darkest comedian in the English comedy scene in Germany and more than meets that expectation by awkwardly talking to audiences about things he most definitely shouldn’t be talking about.

His first solo show, “The Revenge of the Jew-Di” is a 60 to 90 minute exploration of holocaust puns, the life of an Israeli expat in Germany, dating in modern day Berlin, and more. It is currently on tour in Germany and Europe and you can get tickets and see show times here!

Nir is touring with his second solo show as well, “Middle Rage“, and talks about the fun sides of depression, anxiety, cats, hate crimes dating as a single old man, and the bitterness rage and feeling of acceptance that can only come with a life exhaustively lived.
